Tiefling Hair Styling

Alt

I'm back! With more Tiefling!Vallia! I wanted to give her Tiefling design a bit more of a distinct look, so I've been experimenting with different makeup and hairstyles for each of her iterations. I've pretty much adopted the idea of using my same original character, Vallia, across various media or universes. I usually aim for the same core look or vibe, depending on the media in question, but when it comes to designing a different form (She's sometimes a shapeshifter) in Daz Studio I try to mix it up a bit when it comes to her makeup and hairstyle. She always has the same base mesh, or at the very least her face stays the same. I'll typically use that bombshell hairstyle. Then I'll setup new shaders, but try to keep her eyes the same. I'm not always 100% consistent. Trying new things and applying what I've learned is what keeps it fun and interesting for me.

Right now I'm really loving what I've come up with for her here. I believe the makeup is more or less the same since I last showed her off here on my blog, but now she's sporting a new hairstyle. I love long, flowing hairstyles for Vallia, so this when I saw this ponytail I just had to give it a try. It suits her! I'm usually reluctant to swap out her tried and true hairstyle, but this one might just be a keeper.

I started off with the above portrait render as a test to see how it goes, then moved on to making a reel style still to show off her hair from various angles.

The following images are a couple of crops from some renders I posted on my NSFW blog here.

I'm perpetually indecisive and always trying new things, so I'll probably (most definitely...) wind up changing a bunch of stuff with this design. Not sure if I'll keep up with it, but ideally, for organization's sake, I've included a link to a page that outlines all (most) of the assets used in these renders. If I were smart, (I'm not) I'd keep up with this sort of "character sheet" system so I can quickly recreate scenes  using these assets in the future. This would be especially useful for FFXIV screenshots and renders, since I can never remember any of the random mod names.

Anyway, that's enough run on blogging for now. I'm trying to practice writing, organization, blogging, and such by pretty much just putting my thoughts down here. Blogging. The short constraints of microblogging on sites like Twitter and such has pretty much rotted my brain and I find myself just tossing my works into the void with pretty much zero context. I have so much deep lore to share. Not really.
